Sunday Stamper - Red Gold and Green

Have managed to do last week SS which is no mean feat at the moment and am blogging it while the rest of the household sleeps. As the title suggests the theme is red, gold and green, althought you cannot see the gold very well. It's also my December piece for Me to You, so no looking Shazza.

Papertake Weekly challenge

Yup! Another Christmas card for this weeks challenge at http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/ you had to include 1 ribbon, 2 rectangles and 3 small, round embellishments (zooms, eyelets, brads, buttons, gems etc!). This is what I did, have had to do some more with the cute ickle bear as my friend took all the ones I had done, of course she crossed my palm with silver!

Birthday Blog Candy

Ta Da, drum roll.................and the winner is KAREN picked out by my lovely Husband.

Will get it out in the post as soon as I can Karen, well done and hope you enjoy.

Papertake and Sunday Stampers Challenges

Am sooo pleased that I have been able to complete a couple of challenges this afternoon and they have helped me plod on with my Christmas cards, but sorry to all who are fed up with seeing them.

I have incorporated both challenges into one card, the sketch is from http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/ and the colour red included for our very talented Hels's Sunday Stamper http://pinkleart.blogspot.com/.

I have used the very gorgeous Figgy Pudding paper from Basic Grey, stamped and glitted some cute reindeers, stamps from Butterfly Kisses and a bit of this and that.

Thankyou to all who take a peek, ummmm am sooo rubbish with the puter, don't know how to keep my blog candy at the top, doh!

Blog Candy

Well as my 40th birthday is fast approaching I decided I would offer some candy to celebrate. Now, apologies that there is no tempting piccy but I haven't had time to dig out all my unopened/unused goodies, but I can assure you there will be an eclectic mix of stash.

As it's a busy time of year all I ask is that you leave a message and post a link back to my blog, but for those that might fancy a challenge then make a 40th birthday card and you will also go in a draw for 9 copic markers and a blender pen used only once.

I will hopefully make the draw on Saturday 6th December. Cheers!

Christmas Cards

A couple more cards done, but no where near what I should have ready. Haven't even dragged my Christmas stash out of the cupboard, have used new goodies which I bought this year!

Am pleased with these cute stamps and love the papers and colours.

Friday Sketchers

Better be quick as there will be a new one tomorrow, have not been able to prise my daughter off the pc for the last few days. Take a look at http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/ for some fab sketches and cards by the design team.

I used Basic Grey Figgy Pudding papers, ooooh, I sooo lurrrve them, a Dottie's World Christmas download, some Cuttlebug embossing and covered the message and star with glossy accents, which doesn't show up.
Thanks for taking the time to look.

Sunday Stampers - Blue

I know it's a week late, it's also my Me to You swap, have put it in the post and hope Claire doesn't look at my blog until she gets it.

I altered a cd case, with Dovecraft papers and Crafter's Companion stamped images, then filled it with lots of stamped Christmas images. I added a couple of snowflakes and some glitter after I had scanned it in.

Tuesday 21 October 2008

Oooooh, love it

Made this card last night and love it, although the scanning does not do it justice, (my scannings rubbish all the time anyway), even if I say so myself.

Second Post in One Day - Secret Crafter Challenge - Blue and White

Well I'm back again, plans all gone to pot today so thought I would add the Christmas Card I as I think it's really cute. At this rate I won't be finished by next Christmas. Took inspiration from http://secretcrafter.blogspot.com/ challenge and made a blue and white card.

I used a Crafter's Companion penguin stamp, a snowflake stamp and paper from Dovecraft, a Spellbinders scalloped circle, how did I ever manage without my cuttlebug? Have been hankering after a Cricut but not sure I need it or would get enough use out of it, but that doesn't stop me hinting to OH.

Sunday Stampers - Purple

Hi peeps, well I have been a very naughty blogger, just have not had time to craft much or blog. As the title suggests the Sunday Stampers theme http://pinkleart.blogspot.com/
is purple this week, and I couldn't believe my luck have just finished my Me to You for loverly ickle Ann and it just fits the bill. I made a wallet which I filled with some stamped images of the stamps I had used, I stamped some swirls as a background, glittered a mask and added a feather, made pockets inside and added a bit of bling. Did take it apart about three times as I stamped with white stazon for the inside but it didn't show up very well, then stamped with some metalic ink but it wouldn't dry, so ended up with just plain card inside!

Beth has some blog candy

OOOOOhhhh, gorgeous, go take a peek and you'll be in with a chance of winning http://mylittlecardblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/blog-candy.html

Arty Girlz Challenge - Red

Good evening. Well how could I resist, I looooovvve red and needed to make an Anniversary Card for my Other Half and well worth a nosey on their blog http://artygirlzchallengeblog.blogspot.com/

I used a card blank from Inspire Me Papers, http://www.inspiremepapers.co.uk/, absolutely gorgeous and fab quality although my scanning does not do it justice. I also used a I think it's a Paper Mania stamp, printed some swirls onto acetate and a lush flower, but it escapes me where it's from, rubbish arn't I!

Tuesday 23 September 2008

OOOOh, Am excited.

Hello bloggers. I have actually made a card that I am really pleased with, this doesn't happen to me often, always very critical.

Have made an acetate jacket and stamped with a swirl stamp from Butterfly Kisses in stazon, trimmed a silver card and attached the jacket with pearl brads. Stamped a mask again from Butterfly Kisses in metalic lilac, added a feather and sentiment and voila.

Have to admit ruined one, stamped and glittered on acetate and attached it to my piece of work with silicone as I wanted to bend it, but the silicone has bled through the glitter, doh! Well if you don't suceed, try, try again, but not tonight.

Me to You

Front

Back

Now I know Sam has received it, I will post it on my blog. I decided to alter as CD as I had never done this before. I coloured the CD with alcohol inks, cut some scalloped circles with nestabilities, stamped and coloured a Sarah Kay image and added some friends stamped words, finished off with some ribbon and hay presto a door hanger.

Another Week Gone

Where did it go?

Well had a fabby day yesterday, went with OH and DD to Wales White Water Rafting, certainly wasn't looking forward to putting on that wet suit! Ummm was terrified of falling in the water and racing off down the river, OH has done it before and tried to reasure me that I wouldn't fall in, DD couldn't wait to get started. Buuut abosolutely loved it and certainly want to go again, we have some pics of other rafts.

First Christmas Card & My Time to Craft Challenge

Well, as much as I think it's way too early to be thinking about the festive season, I though I had better make a start. I think the penguin stamp is Crafters Companion, the sentiment stamp is from Butterfly Kisses and the papers are from Funky Hand, coloured the image with Sakura glaze pens. I think it fits in with the challenge at http://mytimetocraftchallenge.blogspot.com/ for this week too.

Award

OOOOOh, something to get me back into blogging, have been a bad blogger and crafter over the last few weeks, but will try to improve.

My lurrrrvvvvverlleee sistah Gayle from SBS14 has given me an award, she also has a fab blog at http://littlebirddesign.blogspot.com/.

I now have the difficulty of picking 5 peeps to send the award to. No problem with my first choice, my furry friend who has just set up her own blog Anne aka Little Lion. Another of my favourite Scots Ann R, another SBS14 sistah Tonya, ummmmm Minxy and Andrea, had to type that quickly before I changed my mind, oooooh, soooo difficult. Would link your names to your blogs but, doh! don't know how to do it!

Prisma Pencils

Have not done very well the first couple of times using these pencils but have done a couple of cards using them and am quite pleased with the results. I think I wasn't using enough of the Sansador. Have used them with a new Dovecraft stamp of a tortoise and my new Pink Cat Studio Hooty Owls, love em they are sooo cute. Hope you like, any tips with these pencils greatfully received.

Still seem to be in a card mad making mode, made me first two scrapbook pages a while ago and need to get back to it, have all the photo's sorted just need to get on with it. Does not help when I keep buying new stamps!

I know lots of peeps have started their Christmas cards but just can't bring myself to do it, have thought about it and thought about it , but it's just toooo sooon.

Me to You

I can now blog this, as I know it has been received. Painted the pieces with acrylic dabbers, embossed the pattern, stamped and coloured Stitchels. Thought it could do with something else, but couldn't find the right thing so left it alone, as would ususally botch it up trying to add something else.

Arty Girlz Challenge

I've done another one, it's lovely to be off work, but am back to it on Monday, so must make the most of my last few days.

The challenge from http://artygirlzchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ this week is no patterned paper and here's what I did, have not done a card without layers of papers for ages, but like what I have done.
Have used some PM flower stickers, downloaded images from Pink Petticoat and some Cuttlebug embossed card.

Thankyou for taking the time to look, oh, still haven't cleaned the glass on the scanner, maybe I will do it now!

Where does the time go?

Hi folks, already half way through August into my second week of hols, why does it feel like I have less time when at home than when working?

Have a new pc and have spent half my time messing with the internet, still doesn't want to log in automatically, wish I had a little more knowledge, but keep managing to get it working. Now I have to fathom out how to resize some of my images cos it's not working the same as with my old XP versions.

Sooooo, only managed to do one card, it's ok but not happy with the colouring, seem to be hit and miss at the moment and trying to get to grips with my new prisma pencils, but not very well though.

Arty Girlz Challenge

Well I don't seem to have got around to much crafting over the last two weeks but needed to do a card for a work collegue who is leaving and it also fits in the the challenge at http://artygirlzchallengeblog.blogspot.com/.

Have used a Sarah Kay stamp, DCVW paper and ribbon and a few jewels, tried using my new prisma pencils but after a couple of goes, was not a happy bunny so gave up and water coloured the image instead. Need more practice with my pencils but I won't give up. Hope you like it and thank you for visiting.

I stamped, coloured and glittered the image stamped a background on DCVW cardstock, butterflies, (which have not scanned very well) are on fantasy film and touch of ribbon. Not scanned at all well but you get the gist, hope she likes it.

Sunday Stampers - Hearts & Funky Fairys - Paper Piecing

Well, I was supposed to be making cards for my nephew's birthday, but can't seem to get the old noodle working for 7 year old cards so got side tracked and have done the SS challenge. This was made quite easy as I have some new super di duper stamps designed by the one and only Sunday Stamper Hels herself. I used two the the new stamps, a stamp from Woodware and papers from a Funky Hand CD. Hope you likey. This also qualifies for the Funky Fairys challenge this week which is paper piecing, and I have used quite a few pieces!

SBS 18 Challenge

My Mojo is on the up and have done another challenge set by the SBS 18 Challenge blog, anyone can join in so take a peak http://sbs18challenges.blogspot.com/. This week the challenge is lilac and this is what I came up with, I used a Bella stamp and DCWV Pocket full of Posies papers.

First 12x12 Scrapbook Pages.

Good evening to all, just making Lasagne and thought I would blog my first 12x12 pages. Have used DCWV Once Upon a Time crafty stash and am using it to do a book of my daughter. Have used a page of my own design and a layout from Scrummy Stash Cafe. Have really enjoyed myself and was reluctant to pack away but the troops were getting hungry. Yes, I'm as bad with the camera as I am with the scanner, ha, ha.

Tuesday 17 June 2008

Arty Girlz Challenge

Am on a roll, not sure about this card though, loved the stamp when I bought it but have found it difficult to use. Have also managed another challenge from the Arty Girlz which is "Hint of Pink", not sure if I went a little OTT on the pink!

Papertake and Blog Candy challenge

OOOOh, two birds with one stone and I notice my fellow candy winner Steph has used her yummy winnings for this challenge too. Huge thanks to Gayle for the candy and the challenge. This is "Part 2" of the challenge where we have to make something only using the candy, the only thing we can add is plain card stock. As I have said it also falls in nicely with this weeks Papertake challenge which is "Feellin, Hot, Hot, Hot". Am hoping to fit in more play time with my candy and come up with more for the challenge.
Umm, can't be my scanning, must be the scanner!
The tile reads Happy Birthday.

Sunday Stampers.

Good evening to all, have found it very difficult these last two weeks to fit in any crafting, blogging or surfing. Spent yesterday at the seaside and paid for it today by having tons of washing, ironing and cleaning to do, and found myself very irritable this afternoon, so abandoned the housework and crafted for a couple of hours.

I am pleased to say I have managed the Sunday Stampers challenge which was black and white, after a couple of disasterous attempts here's my effort. I have used a vine stamp from Lavinia stamps and my faithfull Penny Black butterfly and am quite pleased with it in the end. Was an hour of, if you don't succeed, try, try again.

Pico award

Hi Folks

I got this award from lovely Ann and think I have to pass it on to 5 peeps, so my choices are Mee, Gayle, Tonya, Fae and Bee.

Virgin Scrapbooker

Hello everyone, well, I've finally started although a bit of a coward, have chosen to do a mini book first as a taster. I dusted down a couple of boxes of photo's and albums, and was astounded to find a lot of the albums were very discoloured and in some cases going mouldy. I have started with very old photo's of myself which are a bit dog eared to say the least, and here's my first couple of pics, be gentle with me please. The book is made with pockets and the top page slides into pocket of the first page, below.

Sunday 25 May 2008

Sunday Stampers

Well it's always hit and miss with challenges, I have good intentions but don't alway have time to get round to them.

But I have managed to do this weeks Sunday Stampers and on a Sunday too. The theme for this week is Sisters, I have used papers from a Funky Hand CD and a water coloured Bella stamp, which I love.

Thursday 22 May 2008

Funky Fairys Challenge

Just a quicky, have done the Funky Fairys challenge which has fit in nicely with the new stamps I bought at the Bolton Show at the weekend, have done two but one wouldn't scan very well as it was done on dark card with mica powder, really pleased with the results too. The one I am showing is with stamps from Lavinia stamps, painted with some mica powders, a touch of glitter and a touch of ribbon. Don't forget to take a peak at the Funky Fairys blog http://funkyfairychallenge.blogspot.com/ OOOh, better let you know that the challenge was to stamp the background and the images and use no papers only card for matting and layering, hope I get away with the ribbon.

Tuesday 13 May 2008

Lots to do Challenges

Info for my second challenge can be found at http://lotstodocallenges.blogspot.com/, the theme was decoupage. Still on the mission to use things that are "Must Haves" and still in packets I used stamps from Crafters Companion and the co ordinating CD.
